We know it’s a big step of faith to visit a new place – so we want to make it easy for you to find your way. We want you to have an idea of what to expect when you arrive. Our church consists mostly of young adults and families from different cultures. Children are a big part of our family. We have some of the best teachers in the city who love children and we use the award-winning ORANGE curriculum. Your kids are gonna love it.
It is our desire to create an engaging, irresistible, and safe environment for your kids. Here are some policies and procedures we have put in place to help ensure your child’s safety and care.
Waumba is the Swahili word for “Creator.” In Waumba Land, we want pre-schoolers to discover who God is. We want them to know that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. They learn about God through interactive stories, fun songs, and crafts and activities. Parents are welcome to accompany their child when they bring them in for the first time or until they are comfortable to be on their own. It is important for them to be familiar with the new environment. Children will join in more as they become comfortable in the group and familiar with the teachers and the environment.
This is the place where kids learn to trust God, make wise choices and build lasting friendships. In UpStreet, we believe that the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud and good leaders always care. It includes an engaging large group gathering for worship and teaching from the Bible, followed by a more personal Small Group time with caring leaders and children their same age. The Small Group time allows children to build quality friendships. We want UpStreet to be the best hour of your child’s week. We work hard to help each child understand and embrace the following big ideas:
I need to make the WISE choice
I can TRUST GOD no matter what
I should treat OTHERS the way I want to be treated
Transit is a Sunday environment for preteens that allows students to ask their tough theological questions, learn how to apply truths in the Bible, and have their faith challenged while having fun. Transit students join the adult Gathering for singing and then take part in Small Group interactions, play games and hear a relevant message. We work hard to help preteens embrace the following three key ideas:
My relationship between God and others matter
My faith is my confidence in what I hope for and assurance about what I do not see
I need to apply godly wisdom to make the right choices
