1. Read
Romans 6:1-4 (NIV): “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
2. Take 2 minutes to reflect quietly on the above passage and share your observations.
3. Paul says we’ve been set free from the chains of sin. Are there any “chains” in your life—patterns of sin or guilt—that you feel are holding you back? How can the truth of God’s grace help you break free from them?
4. Daniel mentions that true preaching of grace often risks being misunderstood as a license to sin. Why do you think grace can be misunderstood this way? How can we better communicate that grace transforms us, rather than allowing recklessness?
5. Application: In light of
2 Corinthians 5:17 (“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”), what practical steps can you take this week to live out your new identity in Christ?
