Financial Mentoring

Someone to Guide You to a Better Financial Future

Managing money can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Through our mentors and self-paced curriculum, we’re here to help you create a plan and take confident steps toward a healthier financial future.

With a Mentor

Sit down with a mentor for a one-hour session to craft a plan for tackling a savings or debt goal. From there, you can choose to continue meeting with your mentor or start working on your plan independently. If you decide to keep going, your mentor will support you in building habits that drive progress and help you stay on track. Once you sign up below, you’ll complete an initial budget, and then we’ll connect you with your mentor!

On Your Own

If you’re not local or prefer to work independently, you can access the same mentoring content through a guided email series. Simply sign up below to receive the emails and a link to the curriculum to get started!

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Is the curriculum biblically based?

Yes, the curriculum is built on biblical principles to guide participants in making wise financial decisions. That said, you don’t need to be a Christian to take part—everyone is welcome!
What is the cost? Is financial assistance available?
MoneyWise Mentoring is completely free of charge. While we don’t offer financial assistance, our mentoring program is designed to equip you with tools and strategies to take control of your finances.
Do I have to attend The Rocks Church?
Not at all! We’re thrilled to offer this program to anyone in the Perth area, no matter your background or church affiliation. However, as we currently have a limited number of volunteer MoneyWise mentors, priority will be given to those who attend The Rocks Church.
Who are the MoneyWise mentors?
Our mentors are trained volunteers who have shown spiritual maturity in their relationship with God and practical wisdom in managing their finances.
How do you match people with a mentor?
We match participants with mentors based on several factors, including schedule availability, location, and shared life experiences, to ensure a meaningful and effective connection.

Who are your mentors?
Our mentors are trained volunteers who are spiritually and emotionally healthy. Mentors go through extensive training and are required to participate in ongoing trainings throughout the year.
What if I can’t make it to every session?
Consistent attendance is key to getting the most out of the program. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let your mentor know at least 24 hours in advance. To honour your mentor’s time, missed sessions may lead to the program being discontinued. If you’re married, both you and your spouse must attend all sessions together.

Is there homework?
Yes. You will be required to complete weekly homework assignments and come prepared for each meeting. Each session with your mentor will be based on the concept presented and the information you gather from doing the homework. Homework may include reading, listening to a video, and tracking your expenses. It may require an hour or more per week.
Is my participation in MoneyWise confidential?
All communication between you and your mentor is confidential. Western Australia law requires that the mentor report any suspected sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, or serious threat of physical harm to self or others.
