The Rocks Young Adults

Designed specifically for 18 to 29

Adulting can feel exciting, messy, meaningful and sometimes overwhelming all at once. Whether you’re at uni, working, figuring out what’s next, engaged, newly married, new to Perth, exploring faith, or looking for community, you’re welcome here.

The Rocks Young Adults is a community for 18–29 year olds.
We exist to inspire young adults to follow Jesus by creating a space where young adults can encounter God, build real friendships, and grow in an authentic faith.

What We Do at YA

Intentional spaces to know God, build community and navigate young adult life together.

GATHERINGS

Once a month on a Wednesday night
Our YA community comes together for a fun and meaningful night. Expect live worship, a hope-filled message, a light dinner, and plenty of time to hang out. These nights are the perfect place where you can feel welcome, meet other young adults, and deepen your faith.

SMALL GROUPS

From a crowd to a community
Small Groups are the bread and butter of our YA community. These groups meet fortnightly on Wednesday nights, and are made up of people in similar life stages, and led by leaders who care deeply and want to help you grow. This is where friendships deepen, questions can be asked honestly, people pray for each other, and discipleship becomes personal.

CAMP

A weekend getaway
Every year (approx. end of June/July semester break) we getaway together for camp, 2 days and 3 nights of worship, fun, community and making space to hear from God. It’s one of the highlights of our year and an essential time for young adults—new and regular—to build friendships and deepen your faith.

YA Camp 2026 is coming up on 26-28 June, click the button below to register or grab more info!

Small Groups

Real friendships. Real conversations. Real life.
Small Groups are where our YA community becomes personal.

While our monthly YA gathering brings everyone together, Small Groups create space to slow down, build genuine friendships and do life together in a more meaningful way. Our groups are co-ed and based around similar life stages, because we know young adulthood can look really different depending on the season you’re in.

You might be:

  • finishing Year 12
  • studying at uni or TAFE
  • starting your career
  • navigating work and adult life
  • engaged or newly married
  • figuring out what faith and life look like in this season

Small Groups are a place to:

  • meet people and build genuine friendships
  • talk honestly about life and faith
  • ask questions in a safe environment
  • pray for one another
  • stay connected throughout the month

Find a Small Group

You don’t need to have it all figured out to join a group. Whether you’ve been part of church for years or you’re just exploring faith, Small Groups are designed to help you feel known, supported and connected in this season of life.

Every Small Group looks a little different, but they all share the same heart: a place to belong, grow and build meaningful friendships. Our groups are based around life stages, including things like:

Final Year &
School Leavers

17-18
For current Year 12s and recent graduates stepping into young adulthood.

This season often brings a lot of change—finishing school, figuring out what’s next, new rhythms, new freedom and new decisions. This group is designed to help make the transition into YA feel natural and connected.

Uni & TAFE Students

18-22
For those studying, working part-time, in apprenticeships or navigating the early years of adulthood.

Whether you’re balancing assignments, work, friendships, big questions or figuring out what your future might look like, this group is a space to build friendships and grow through this season together.

Working Young Professionals

22-29+
For those settled into full-time work or navigating adult responsibilities and routines.

This season often looks like balancing work, church, friendships, finances and figuring out how faith fits into everyday life. These groups are a space to stay connected, encouraged and grounded.

Unmarried & No Kids

24-29+
For unmarried young adults without kids navigating the later end of young adulthood.

This season can bring unique questions around friendships, dating, calling, career, purpose and what the future might look like. These groups create space for meaningful connection with others in a similar stage of life.

Engaged & Married

24-29+
For couples preparing for marriage or building life together in the early years.

These groups create space to build strong community, grow spiritually and navigate this season alongside others who understand the joys and challenges that come with it.

FAQs

When and where does The Rocks Young Adults happen?
We meet every Wednesday night from late February to November at The Rocks Cannington and The Rocks Baldivis.

Small Groups meet across the city fortnightly, and every other Wednesday night is an all-in YA Gathering or Social Night at The Rocks.

Most nights start at 6:30pm, typically ending around 9-9:30pm. But these are our twenties -- most of the time, we're up til quite late!
Do I have to be a Christian to go?
Not at all. You're welcome whether you're a seasoned Christian, curious about faith, asking questions, or just looking for community.
What can I expect at a Wednesday gathering?
A typical Wednesday YA Gathering includes uplifting worship, relevant teaching, and time to connect with others in the community. Come at 6:30pm and stay for post-gathering hangs to enjoy snacks and relaxed hangout time!

Note: these gatherings only happen once a month.
What if I’m not in my 20s?
If you’re between 18 and 30, you’re welcome to join us. That includes current Year 12s—we want your transition into Young Adults to begin while you’re in your final year of high school, so come on down and hang with us.

Our community is all about helping young adults build genuine friendships and navigate this season of life together, so if you’re close to that age range, we’d love to meet you.

If you’re over 30, we’re so glad you’re here too.
While Young Adults is specifically designed for ages 18–30, The Rocks is a church for every stage of life, and we’d love to help connect you into community that feels right for you.

Feel free to chat with one of our team on a Sunday or send us a message at ya@therocks.church - we’d love to help you find your place at The Rocks.
Why is there only one YA Gathering a month?
At The Rocks, we love Young Adults, but we also deeply value the life of the whole church. That’s why we gather as a full YA community once a month, while prioritising Sundays as our main weekly gathering as a church.

We believe young adults aren’t separate from the church, they’re a vital part of it. Sundays create space to worship alongside different generations, serve on team, build relationships across church life, and stay connected to the bigger picture of what God is doing at The Rocks.

Then once a month, YA comes together intentionally for a night focused on young adults—building friendships, growing in faith and creating space for conversations specific to this season of life.

The rhythm helps us stay rooted in the wider church while also building a strong and meaningful YA community.
When do small groups meet?
Small groups meet fortnightly on Wednesdays. The location and times varies depending on the group you join.
Can I bring a friend who hasn’t signed up for a group?
Absolutely! Friends are always welcome to join and experience the community with you.

If you're in a Small Group already, let your Small Group Leader know.
Where do I park?
There's plenty of free parking bays available onsite at both locations.
Is there a cost to come?
Nope! YA is completely free.
