GLOBAL(X) JOURNEY TO INDONESIA

Embark on an unforgettable adventure from Monday, 5 October to Sunday, 11 October 2026, as we travel to Purwokerto, Central Java for a mission trip filled with meaningful connection and cultural immersion. For approximately $1500, which includes flights and accommodation, you’ll experience the heart of Central Java, engage with the theological students of STT Soteria, and make a tangible difference in the lives of the next generation of ministry leaders across Indonesia.

Sekolah Tinggi Teologi (STT) Soteria Purwokerto is a theological college dedicated to equipping the next generation of church leaders, pastors, and church planters. Their mission is to "Educate friend-leaders who follow Jesus Christ by building a graceful heart, truthful head, and skillful hand, to lead others to follow Jesus Christ."

Students at STT Soteria come from various regions and islands across Indonesia, often leaving their families behind to prepare for ministry. Many of these young men and women will return to rural or unreached areas. Our team will serve, stay nearby, and spend time with these students, offering a unique opportunity to invest meaningfully in their lives and callings.

STT Soteria is dedicated to:

• Theological Excellence: Equipping students with a deep, truthful understanding of the Word.
• Character Formation: Developing a graceful heart and strong moral foundation.
• Practical Ministry: Building skillful hands for real-world leadership, counseling, and service.
• National Impact: Sending competent and ethically grounded graduates to serve communities throughout Indonesia.

Not only will we interact daily with the students during our stay, but we also have the privilege as a team to hold Classes or Workshops themed around Life Skills and Leadership.

The purpose is to broaden the students' horizons, encourage them in their calling, and build strong identities through our life testimonies. Since many of these students will go on to lead churches in challenging or under-resourced environments, strengthening their resilience and leadership capacity is vital.

A Class/Workshop (90 mins) consists of:

• 10 mins - Ice Breaker
• 20 mins - Theory/Teachings
• 15 mins - Discussion
• 30 mins - Theory/Teachings
• 15 mins - Q&A

Below are some topics that we aim to cover:

• Mindset and Identity in Christ
• Time Management and building healthy habits
• Budgeting — how to record and manage finances in ministry
• Life Values: honesty, grace, respect, responsibility, hard work, accountability
• Emotional intelligence and ministry resilience
• Conversational English practice

Day 1 (Monday, October 5):
Fly to Jakarta, Indonesia. Overnight stay in Jakarta.

Day 2 (Tuesday, October 6):
Scenic train journey from Jakarta to Purwokerto, Central Java. Arrive at STT Soteria. Welcome dinner with the faculty and students.

Day 3 (Wednesday, October 7):
ALL DAY - Campus immersion. Morning chapel service, followed by life-skills workshops and afternoon English club with the students.

Day 4 (Thursday, October 8):
ALL DAY - Workshops at the college and visiting local outreach ministries or partner churches in the Purwokerto area.

Day 5 (Friday, October 9):
ALL DAY - Final workshops, group mentoring sessions, and a farewell gathering with the STT Soteria community.

Day 6 (Saturday, October 10):
Rest & Relaxation: hiking & exploring the town

Day 7 (Sunday, October 11):
Church Ministry. Train back to Jakarta

Day 8 (Monday, October 12):
Fly back to Perth
